As you may be aware, Manchester was part of the Beacons for Public Engagement project which ran from 2008-2012.

The final reports from all six Beacons (including Manchester) are now available on the NCCPE website at www.publicengagement.ac.uk/about/beacons/beacon-evaluations

Funded by RCUK, the UK Funding Councils and the Wellcome Trust, the Beacons for Public Engagement were university-based collaborative centres established in 2008 to help support, recognise, reward and build capacity for public engagement work across the UK with a lifespan of four years. The Beacons all tackled the challenge in different ways, though there were many commonalities in the challenges they faced, and the tactics they used to address these.
