The Society of Biology is organising a record attempt for the world’s largest memory game to celebrate Biology Week in October 2012. Anyone keen to put their short-term memory to the test can take part in the record attempt and learn about the fascinating world of neuroscience.

The game was played in the 2011 Royal Institution Christmas lectures presented by Professor Bruce Hood. You can watch the video here (the game is 16:30 minutes in) and you may be surprised how little you can remember!

The record attempt will be accompanied by a video introduction from Professor Hood along with resources exploring the science behind short-term and long-term memory.

Schools and organisations are invited to take part – all you need is at least 25 people able to play our 10 minute memory game and the ability to provide the documentation required by Guinness World Records.

For more information, please contact Rebecca Nesbit, email: rebeccanesbit@societyofbiology.org or by phone: 0207 685 2553.

We are also keen to hear from neuroscientists who are interested in contributing to the resources.
