An interesting request from a freelance writer, Wendy Barnaby, who edits ‘People & Science’ (The British Association’s magazine)

“I’m trying to find people who engaged with the public as an input to their PhD. I don’t mean as part of a PhD on public engagement, but on a scientific topic. It may have been engagement with the public generally or with specific interest groups (eg, the author of a PhD on the decline of bees, engaging with bee keepers).

I’d like to ask them about their experiences. I’m exploring whether they thought they wrote a better PhD because of the engagement – not only style, but perhaps because it led them to cover aspects of their subject they might not have thought of.”

Do you fit the bill?
