Alzheimer’s Research UK Public Meeting

A public meeting, hosted by Alzheimer’s Research UK in collaboration with The University of Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing (MICRA), will take place from 3-5pm on Monday 7 March at Manchester Town Hall.

Currently, over 850,000 people in the UK live with dementia and this number will double in the next 30 years. Significant advances are being made in our understanding of the causes of dementia and in developing treatments.

This meeting will offer an afternoon of short talks by leading experts and will explore how research is impacting on the diagnosis of dementia and provide updates on research into potential treatments for dementia. There will also be an opportunity to hear about how research is informing the plans for the dementia pilot “Dementia United” within the devolution of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care budget, followed by an opportunity for input and feedback from the audience.
