UKRI have recently put out a new funding call for Enhancing place-based partnerships in public engagement to support capacity building in collaborative, place-based public engagement between research organisations, partner organisations and communities.

Projects will plan, develop and test ways of working, co-created and in partnership with communities in their defined geography with the aim of embedding community and public engagement with research.

Important Note: UoM Internal Submission Process – deadline 30 September 2019
Research organisations may only be the ‘lead organisation’ on one bid and a partner on one bid (i.e. a maximum of two bids in total), whether they are leading a separate bid or not. Because of this, an Internal Expressions of Interest submission led by Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility, will make a recommendation to the Research Strategy Group to identify any bids that will be submitted to UKRI. The panel will review the Internal Expressions of Interest in line with the UKRI’s eligibility requirements, taking into account innovation, strength of community partnership, research quality, proposed matched funding and sustainability. The deadline of the internal submission is 30 September, 17:00. To find out more about this process including accessing the UoM Internal Expressions of Interest form – contact Dee-Ann.Johnson@manchester.ac.uk / 0161 306 3231.
