The University is delighted to welcome The Story Collider team to Manchester. Their mission is to find science stories from as many different voices as possible and empower people with the skills needed to connect with diverse audiences.
To help you develop these skills, we are hosting a Story Collider workshop, on 26 October 2018, 12:30 – 17:00.
Who is it for?
Staff (academic and PSS), post-graduate students and public contributors wishing to develop their own personal science stories.
What will the workshop involve?
It will combine lecture, discussion, reflective exercises and hands-on practice, facilitated by the Story Collider team. Following this training session, 30 lucky participants will have the opportunity to see a Story Collider show that evening, run in partnership with ScienceGrrl and the Manchester Science Festival.
On 6 December 2018 the University of Manchester will welcome The Story Collider back to the city for our very own performance at The Birdcage from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. With the theme of ‘Diversity,’ workshop attendees will have the opportunity to apply to perform their own science stories at this event.
This initiative is funded by The University of Manchester ‘Investing in Success’ scheme.
The University co-ordinating team are Dee-Ann Johnson, Suzanne Spicer, Kristin Trichler and Hawys Williams.
