Advice, Networking & Exchange of Practical Ideas

Wednesday 14 September 2016, 11am – 2 pm (lunch included), Williamson building G12

All researchers welcome – whether academic staff, research staff or postgraduate research students with an interest in both environmental (science, health, humanities, engineering) research and its dissemination to the public and stakeholders through outreach events. We are equally keen to attract those with experience and advice to share and those with an interest and passion to start to undertake outreach work about their or the university’s environmental research. Early career researchers are particularly welcomed.

Programme

  • 11:00 – Outreach showcase – short introduction talks by researchers already involved in environmental outreach including advice on how to get involved.
  • 12:00 – Lunch and outreach demo session – a chance to network and bring along outreach activities which have worked well for engaging the public.
  • 12:45 – Outreach clinic – Submit a description of your research or paper using the form below and we will have a collective think about an outreach activity to help communicate this at an outreach event.
  • 13:30 – Open discussion – To cover topics surrounding how we can better represent the UoM environmental research in outreach events.
