Do you enjoy working with people? Do you enjoy talking to and helping people? Are you interested in being involved in live events in and around Manchester?

What are we looking for?

Manchester Science Festival is looking for a team of people to help deliver an exciting programme of fun, stimulating and creative events this autumn. This year is Manchester Science Festival’s tenth birthday and we will be celebrating Manchester as the European City of Science with a diverse and vibrant programme of events happening that we would love your support with.

What will you get from volunteering with us?

Meeting new people, discovering science in a variety of different ways and getting hands-on with making activities, volunteering with us will give you lots of opportunities to get to know people and give you memorable experiences. You can also join our team of year-round event volunteers to support events after the festival.

What does the application process involve?

The event volunteer role description outlines the activities and responsibilities that we ask our event volunteers to undertake during the festival. Please read that before completing the event volunteer application form.

We get lots of applications, so we cannot guarantee to take on everyone who applies. When you complete the application form, please give as much detail as you can to show us why you would like to join us and how your previous experience meets the role description. It is an opportunity for us to get to know you a little bit and see what you can bring to our volunteer team.

Successful applicants will be invited to an informal group interview. Having read your application, we will want to get to know you a little bit better and for you to meet us and find out more about volunteering at Manchester Science Festival.

People who are taken on to be part of this year’s volunteer cohort will be given a Museum of Science and Industry induction, manual handling training, a basic disclosure check and an induction about Manchester Science Festival before the festival kicks off on the 20 October 2016.
