Saturday Science scientists wanted!

Saturday Science at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) is a monthly contemporary science informal learning event which takes place on a Saturday from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

Many of you are already involved in the programme (or as it used to be Meet the…scientist) and MOSI already has some great links with many different departments.

I have a slot available on Saturday 8 December and would love to make new contacts with anyone who may have considered doing this style of event.

The events are very relaxed; we ask scientists to create a handful of table-top interactive experiments/demonstrations with which to engage our audience (core ages 4-14 but accompanied by parents/grandparents, plus individual adults) with their science. We suggest simple experiments, make and take activities, simple craft, colouring, something with some “wow” factor, show some fancy equipment etc. It is not a formal workshop environment nor are lectures or talks appropriate in this case.

If anyone is interested or would like to get some more information please contact Marieke Navin on M.Navin@mosi.org.uk
