Join us at out next engagement@manchester session, with special guest, award winning science presenter – Dr Sarah Bearchell.

Topic: One Step Beyond: Crossing the Barriers to Engagement

When and Where: 2 March 2016, 1 – 2:30pm, Roscoe Building, room 1.009 (Brunswick Street, University of Manchester)

Outreach grant applications often ask if you plan to work with “hard-to-reach audiences” so we’ll explore what this means and how you can take your work into a range of community settings.

Sarah will share the challenges and rewards of working with diverse audiences. We’ll look at some case studies of her work – including a CBeebies Big Day Out Festival, Bake Off, visits to schools for pupils with special needs, faith group visits, pop-up busking in a shopping street, and more to help you consider new audiences to engage with your own work.

Be sure to bring along your queries, questions, musings and concerns and we will do our best to help. There will also be plenty of time for networking over a cup of coffee/tea.

All welcome. No registration, just drop-in.
