Do you want to help inspire the next generation of scientists and science communicators?

Here at the Manchester Branch of the British Science Association we recognise that the public gain most of their understanding of scientific advancement through news reports; and want to help the next generation of scientists and communicators successfully navigate the world of the press release. So, we are launching a competition for 6th form students across Greater Manchester to create their own scientific press releases and we need your help!

We are looking for enthusiastic researchers from all stages of their careers to act as mentors – teaching students about their field and helping them create informative and informed press releases. The competition is set to run in March 2016 and we are looking to gather together a range of mentors from a number of different academic backgrounds to liaise with the students. We’d love your help with this important and exciting venture so, to register your interest, please e-mail us at: britsciassoc@manchesterscience.co.uk.

We look forward to working with you.
