Registration is now open for the second Hack Day which will be taking place on September 30 2015.

Once again, we’ll be inviting patients, carers, service users or members of the public to pitch their own idea for a research project. The pitchers will then work in groups with other public collaborators and also with researchers and representatives from voluntary organisations to try to translate these ideas into early-stage research proposals.

The Patient Hack 2015 pdf has more info about the venue, what the day involves and how to take part.

This year, we’re specifically inviting pitches around three themes – Mental Health, Technology & Health, and Patient Safety. This is because these are areas of expertise in Manchester which means researchers/ voluntary organisation representatives with relevant experience can be invited to attend.

As with last year’s event, we are inviting 30 public contributors and 30 researchers/ voluntary organisation representatives, and places are available on a first come, first served basis. Public contributors will receive a reimbursement for travel expenses (up to a max of £30) and an attendance fee (£40).
