The University of Manchester has had success with this grant scheme before and there’s £30,000 available for creative engagement associated with engineering.

Details below and deadline not until 22 Septmber 2014.

Ingenious is the Royal Academy of Engineering’s grant scheme for projects that engage the public with engineers and engineering. We’re looking for projects that:

  • inspire creative public engagement with engineering
  • stimulate engineers to share their stories, passion and expertise in innovative ways with wider audiences
  • develop engineers’ communication and engagement skills
  • create debate between engineers and people of all ages to raise awareness of the diversity, nature and impact of engineering.

All Ingenious projects should engage the public with engineering while also providing engineers with skills and opportunities in public engagement.

Funding is from £3,000 to £30,000 and we welcome proposals from engineers, universities, science and engineering communicators and engagement professionals, colleges and schools.

There’s lots more information over on our website at www.raeng.org.uk/ingenious and feel free to drop me an email or give me a ring if you have any questions. The deadline for applications is 4pm on 22 September, 2014, but it’s a good plan to start putting together your ideas now!
