As part of our Aftermath – 100 Years of Creativity from Conflict exhibition (until 29 June – related to the WWI Centenary), there will be an illustrated talk as part of our Thursday Late series of events.

Thursday Late happens every third Thursday of the month, with the John Rylands Library staying open from 5pm to 6.45pm, with (in many months) an additional attraction in the Historic Reading Room at 6pm. This gives the chance not only to enjoy the building and exhibitions ‘after hours’, but also an opportunity to enjoy the spaces with different activities including music, talks and storytelling happening.

This Thursday (22 May), join photojournalist Stefan Boness for an exploration of his Flanders Fields project. View stunning contemporary views of the Western Front as it appears today, and discuss what questions his images raise about what lies beneath the surface.

Free, no need to book. More details here.
