The British Science Festival 2014 will take place in Birmingham from 6 – 11 September. Working in collaboration with our hosts, the University of Birmingham and associate partners Birmingham City Council, Aston University and Birmingham City University we are now seeking proposals for the entertainment and family programme.
We are looking for original, high quality science entertainment events for a range of audiences, from family groups to young adults looking for entertainment, special interest groups and followers of the arts. Events in this programme include:
- Science shows
- Workshops for adults and families
- Trips to places of interest in the local area
- Behind the scenes tours of local buildings and facilities
- Sci-art collaborations
- Musical shows
Find out about submitting your proposal for the entertainment and family programme.
To discuss any family or entertainment event ideas you can contact Farrah Nazir by email – email@example.com or by phone on 020 7019 4941
We are also accepting proposals for our Young People’s Programme. Next year we will focus on highlighting careers pathways and opportunities available to those who study science. Although the focus will be on young people aged 14+ (including those in vocational training) we will also be offering activity from primary and lower secondary students. For this programme you could propose:
- A workshop giving students an opportunity to experience something they wouldn’t in the classroom
- A science show
- An inspirational speaker
- An activity highlighting careers opportunities

In January 2014 we will issue the call for proposals for events in the scientific programme. If you have a talk, panel discussion or debate in mind, we will want to hear from you then.
